Comment: Constantly people were throwing away trash in my house and when the barrel would get full they would push it down with their hands, or you are touching the barrel top to throw things away. I was at a friend's house and he had this touchless trash can and I was amazed. It holds a ridiculous amount of waste and it will automatically open and shut when you stand in front of it. Comment: I bought this stainless steel touchless trash can for my new home 2 years ago. Because I HATE touching lids to put trash in, this product is perfect for me. It is sleek and slender and blends in well with my kitchen and the other stainless appliances. I have not had to replace the batteries yet. My only complaint is that I don't like the mechanism used to keep the bag in place on the inside of the can. It's not that big of a deal to me though. I just don't use it.
Guests are sometimes scared by the trash can opening if they get to close and don't know that its automatic. I find that quite humorous though. Afterwards, they are amused. One other thing...don't accidentally let this trash can fall on your foot/toes while taking the trash bag out....it really hurts...bad. :-X I hobbled around for some days after that. This trash can is not heavy but the stainless steel is not forgiving on the toes. Since then, I have recovered and still like my trash can.
