About the Brand Newman's Own is a food company that was founded by Paul Newman in 1982. The company makes all-natural salad dressing, pasta sauce, salsa, lemonade and steak sauce. Newman's Own Organics was founded in 1993 by Paul Newman's daughter, Nell Newman, as a division of Newman's Own. It became a separate company in late 2001. Summary: High Quality Dog Treats: No Wheat, No Corn
Comment: Newman's Own Organic Chicken Treats for Dogs are a big hit with my three dogs; a miniature poodle, a black lab and a standard doxie. Made in Canada these have the following analysis:

Crude Protien: 11.5% min
Crude Fat: 8.5% min
Crude Fiber: 6.0% max
Moisture: 10.0% max

INGREDIENTS: Barley flour*, ground chicken*, carrots*, apples*, canola oil, rolled oats, natural flavor. Note: (*) indicates certified organic.

SIZE: Medium sized in this case means 'heart-shaped', about 1.5" x 1.5". You could actually break them in half for small dogs.

While this is not supposed to replace your dog's food, they'd like it if it did! The reason I give it 4 stars is because of the 'premium price'. I picked them up at a local grocery closeout store for $2 a bag with 18 months left until the the 'best before' date. My doggies haven't said anything about them being stale, so I guess Newman's Own has done it again.

CONCLUSION: Organic, high quality dog treats. Nice product, but a bit pricey.

Comment: My dog can be a picky eater when it comes to organic/healthy treats and he only eats these about 75% of the time i offer it to him.. i guess it depends on his mood? I actually tried them myself (i try all the treats i buy him before subjecting him to them because i will NOT feed him anything I find disgusting) and they're not too bad - tastes a bit like oatmeal. I do love how you can actually see the pieces of apples and carrots in the treats and I love how the ingredients are certified organic :)
btw- the little story on the back of the bag "Newman Dog Tells All!!" is hilarious!!

Summary: Quality and Simple Ingredients. VERY peanut buttery!!
Comment: These are hard to find and the pack of 6 is a good deal. We actually have 3 Great Danes and a German Pointer. 2 of the Danes are pups and pay attention very well while being schooled IF and only if I have these cookies or real meat. No other training treat works like this. I order the small size (yes for Great Danes) because they are perfect size for a training reward. Here are the ingredients: Barley Flour, Ground Chicken, Carrots, Apples, Rolled Oats, Canola Oil, Flax Seed, Sesame Seed, Sunflower Seeds, Natural Peanut Flour, Natural Flavor. (Certified Organic).
I mean come on - that is excellent stuff. They smell good too. Sometimes walmart will carry the cheese ones but peanut butter trumps them all!
