The Grado SR60 Headphones produce brilliant sound and offer outstanding listening comfort for a low cost. The SR60s have a flexible, soft vinyl headband. The headband and earpieces are connected by metal height adjusters, which adjust the height of your head with the center of your ear. These nifty adjusters also allow the earpiece to rotate a full 360 degrees, permitting them to lie flat on a surface perfect when packing in a suitcase. The SR60s come with earpads made of soft, porous, open-cell foam that covers the driver much more comfortably than standard foam earpads.

Comment: This comfortable and slightly portable headphones carry a fantastic sound that makes me find new details in the music that I've never heard before. You could say that it does not block surrounding noise well and there is noticeable sound leakage, but I see them as sacrifices in order to grant the best sound possible for an under-$100 set.

Summary: Superb for headphones under a $100
Comment: I've grown to like these the longer I've had them. The clarity is sensational. The bass isn't the strongest though.(heard the SR-80's have more bass) As for comfort, tight at first but I stretched the headband out and now there is less pressure. The treble seemed high at first, but that might be be because for years I was so use to murky sounding headphones, but now with these cans the symbols have remarkable definition. I will admit it is still is hard to listen to Queensryche recordings because the symbols are recorded with such high note intensity and it really comes across emphatically on these headphones. Cosmetically, if your looking to impress the lady-folk with your style these are not it. A completely stuck in the 70's look to them. These are not for quiet office settings or for commercial plane trips. People will easily hear the music leaking out because the speakers are actually 2-sided.(1 facing your ear and the other facing out, I'm guessing to create depth in the sound) I would give these a 4 star but I'm grading it on the kind of value they are for your dollar. 5 star

Summary: Great entry level phones
Comment: These things are great, got them yesterday, so I'm still burning them in, but right out of the box these cans sounded amazing, since I have been using nearly blown out phillips headphones for the past two months.
They have a really nice sound stage, something I was not used to since any "high quality" headphone I have ever used is circum aural, or closed, like the ATH-ES7, it was a really big change hearing the different sounds of a song coming from different areas, like front, back, left, right. They are also really good for gaming, believe it or not. I put this in to my computer and started playing portal, and I could hear the environment around me like I never had. Though, do be warned, everyone around you can hear these when you put the sound past 25% up. All around great cans, sound nice, are very comfortable, and are at a good price, I highly suggest them.

Summary: The best headphones you can buy!
Comment: These headphones look quite ugly and ancient, but they are comfortable and produce the best sound headphones could produce. Beware, you might get better sound, but that will cost you $600+ more. For $69 you cannot get anything better than Grado SR60. In case you wonder about SR60-325i differences I will explain it.

Don't go for SR80. They will cost you more, but they will not sound any different. A quote from Grado website: "Built on the SAME features as the SR60, but (SR80) utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and larger ear cushions". Translation- EAR cushions! You could buy (and eventually will, because ear pads wear out after about a year) from Grado different cushions and you will get the same result!.

Better step up would be SR125. But- "Based on the SAME DESIGN as the SR80, the SR125 features an improved diaphragm and voice coil design and UHPLC (Ultra-high purity, long crystal) copper voice coil wire".

Sr 225-"Features are the SAME as the SR125 but, this Headphone has an increased air flow by 50% which is achieved through an improved rear metal screen and closer matched drivers".

Only SR325i features different design and materials. But it cost $295! Imagine how many SR 60's you could buy!

From outside you could not see the difference comparing SR60-80-125-225. They look identical, except model markings. SR60 features closed ear cushions and the rest have ring type earpads. They all interchangeable. Some people say that SR60 pads are more comfortable, but it is up to you to compare that. Sr 125 and SR225 have a little bit better internal components. But that comes with steep price increase. I am sure audiophiles care more about sound quality, but in these tough economical times SR60 is THE BEST value.
In case cord breaks (mine did after a year and a 2 months at the end of headphone y cable, close to earphones) it is easy to repair- you just will need soldering iron, wire stripper and 2 small cable ties. Cables are quite strong and wide, but eventually everything breaks.

Comment: Wow! The SR60 was as good as my friend told me. My roommate has a pair of much more expensive Denon headphones and they do not have this awesome sound!
