The sinuous world of 1950s Cuban dance halls provides the setting for Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, a "reimagining" that shares with the original movie a deep love of sexy young people pressed tightly together on the dance floor. Fresh from New England, bookish and lovely Katey (Romola Garai, adorable in the charming but little-seen I Capture the Castle) meets a fiery young busboy named Javier (Diego Luna, Y Tu Mama Tambien) at a snooty hotel. Before you can say Tito Puente, the two have found a common language in the sensual swaying of their limbs, despite the resistance of Katey's mother (Sela Ward). It's all ridiculous, of course--the dialogue is atrocious, the characters tortilla-thin, and the politics embarrassing--but that's hardly the point. Luna is dreamy, there's lots of sweaty dancing, and Patrick Swayze makes an appearance--what more can you ask from a movie called Dirty Dancing? --Bret Fetzer

Summary: Hello Havana!!!! Comment: I personal own this movie, and WOW. The dancing is very good,I recomend it very much. I haver personaly met Patrick Swazye, and YES he does dance that good in person. If you like dancing, any style this movie should be in your collection of "dance" movies. I think Sela Ward plays a wonder mother, who cares about her daughter!!!!!! I give it a 11+++++++++++++++++++++ Customer Rating: Summary: Girl is pretty but plot is kinda stupid Comment: The actress is very beautiful and I like her a lot. But the story is ... I have to say, stupid. Customer Rating: Summary: Lame, lame, lame Comment: I was really hoping to enjoy this movie, really, I was. It was just so lame. The acting WAS horrible...it seemed forced among all actors. Their was NO chemistry between the main characters. Even the cameo with Patrick Swayze was ridiculous! He had no spirit in him. It was almost as if the writers wanted him to bring (tie in) these movies together. Ugh..maybe you should see it just to say you did, but rent it first before wasting your money on poor acting. BTW, if you are seeing it to see Swayze, he LOOKS horrible. His face lift makes him look, well, fake. It's just a bit too tight. He was extremely "fine" in the original DD. Customer Rating: Summary: Not a Bad Sequel Comment: This was not too bad of a sequel. The dancing was good and it had a halfway decent story. I don't think it was quite as good as the original movie, not as memorable as far as performances, and probably won't become a phenomenon, but I liked it. I think the dancing was entertaining and the actors did a good job of portraying their characters. Not bad.
